Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 8, 2026
MinaLabs (the "Company") provides the voice-first AI journaling service Momentary (the "Service") and handles your personal data with care, in compliance with applicable law. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how we use, store, share, and delete it.
1. Information we collect
- Account info: email, name, and profile info provided via Google/Kakao/Apple sign-in
- Profile settings: nickname, language, prompt settings, profile photo (optional)
- Your content: voice recordings, transcripts, AI-generated journals (title, mood, keywords, body), and AI-mentor conversations
- Usage data: last sign-in time, number of moments created/deleted, reflection usage, app analytics events
- Payment data: subscription status and identifiers processed by our payment provider (Paddle). Card details are collected and processed directly by Paddle; we do not store them.
- Device/technical data: cookies and local storage needed to run the Service, basic device/browser info
2. How we use it
- Identify members and maintain sign-in
- Provide core features: transcription, journal generation, AI-mentor reflections
- Personalize by language and enforce usage limits
- Process subscription billing, renewal, cancellation, and support
- Improve the Service, diagnose errors, and analyze usage
- Respond to inquiries and deliver important notices
3. Sub-processors
We use the following processors to provide the Service. Each processes data only within the scope we delegate. Some are located overseas (e.g., the US), so your data may be transferred and processed internationally.
- Supabase — authentication, database, voice/image file storage (infrastructure)
- OpenAI — speech-to-text transcription, Whisper (US)
- Anthropic — journal generation & AI-mentor replies, Claude (US)
- Paddle — web subscription payments, Merchant of Record (billing/tax)
- Resend — inquiry/feedback and sign-up/notice emails (email)
- Amplitude · Vercel — usage/performance analytics, hosting
We do not provide your content to AI providers for model training (processing is limited to transcription/generation purposes).
4. Retention and deletion
- Your content and account info are retained until you withdraw membership or request deletion.
- Deleting a journal also deletes its linked voice file.
- When you delete your account (in settings), your account info and all journals, reflections, and recordings are permanently destroyed without undue delay. Information that law requires us to keep (e.g., e-commerce transaction/payment records) is retained for the legally required period, then destroyed.
5. Data protection
- All user data is protected by Row-Level Security so that only you can access it.
- Voice recordings are stored in a private bucket and are not publicly accessible.
- We apply reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including in-transit encryption (HTTPS).
6. Your rights
You may, at any time:
- request access to and correction of your data;
- delete content such as journals/recordings;
- close your account and request destruction — you can delete your account directly in settings, which permanently destroys your account info and all content without undue delay;
- request suspension of processing or withdraw consent (hello@minalabs.net).
7. Cookies and local storage
We use cookies and browser local storage to maintain sign-in sessions, remember language settings, render screens quickly, and analyze usage. You can control cookies in your browser, though some features may be limited.
8. Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 14, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
9. Changes to this policy
We may revise this policy in line with legal or service changes and will announce the effective date and changes in the Service.
