Answers to the questions we hear most about Momentary.
How does Momentary work?
Tap the record button on the home screen and speak whatever's on your mind. The AI transcribes your voice, then organizes it into a journal entry (a "moment") with a title, mood, and keywords. You can review and tweak the generated entry before saving it.
Which languages are supported?
11 languages: Korean, English, Japanese, German, Spanish, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Brazilian Portuguese, French, Thai, and Vietnamese. Your chosen language applies not just to the app UI but also to speech recognition, journal generation, and AI-mentor replies. On your first visit we detect your browser language and use it if supported (English otherwise); you can change it anytime in Settings.
Are my recordings and journals safe?
Yes. All data is protected by Row-Level Security so that only you can access it, and voice recordings are kept in a private bucket. Data is sent to trusted AI processors for transcription and journal generation — see the Privacy Policy for details.
What are the free plan limits?
The free plan includes:
- Moments per day: 2
- Reflect sessions per day: 1
- Turns per reflection: 3 (including the opening reflection)
Upgrading to PRO makes all of these unlimited and unlocks the AI-personalized home greeting, saved reflection history, and photo/video attachments on moments (one per moment). (Choosing how many home prompts to show — 1 to 5 — and toggling them on/off is free for everyone, defaulting to 3.)
How do I subscribe to PRO?
You can subscribe right on the web. Pricing is US$5.99/month or US$49.99/year (in Korea, ₩7,900/month or ₩66,000/year), paid on the upgrade screen. You can cancel or change your payment method under Manage subscription in Settings, and refunds follow our Refund Policy. (In the native apps, you can also subscribe via App Store / Google Play in-app purchase.)
What is Reflect (AI mentor)?
Based on your recent moments, an AI growth mentor opens a reflection and then chats with you. The mentor always ends with an open question to encourage deeper self-reflection.
Momentary is a tool for self-reflection and is not a substitute for medical or psychological treatment. If you're struggling, please seek help from a professional.
Can I share a moment with someone or on social media?
Yes. Tap the share button on a saved moment to create a public link you can send via messengers or post to social media. Anyone with the link can view that moment's voice, title, mood, and body without signing in (your name is not shown), while the social preview card shows only the title and mood. Sharing applies only to moments you turn on, and you can stop sharing anytime from the share sheet (the link is invalidated right away). For moments with a recording, the share sheet also has an "Allow voice playback" toggle — turn it off and the shared page shows only the voice visual without actually playing it, while the link stays the same and you can turn it back on anytime. Deleting a moment also removes its link.
If I delete a journal, is it gone for good?
Yes. Deleting a journal also deletes the voice recording stored with it. Deleted content can't be recovered, so please proceed carefully.
Recording isn't working / I get a microphone error.
Recording requires your browser's microphone permission. Make sure it's allowed; if it still doesn't work, refresh the page or try another browser. If the problem persists, let us know via the feedback form in the menu or the email below.
Can I install it like an app?
Yes. Momentary is a PWA — add it to your home screen to open and use it quickly, like a native app. Follow the install button in the prompt banner.
